H
ard to believe the end of the year is so
close but I suppose it should come as no
surprise how quickly time passes! I'm
signing off on leave forms for my team and
their Christmas breaks, planning for next
year, and watching as my newborn baby
grows every day.
As always, there's a lot happening at
Business Chicks. We don't like to sit still and
are constantly looking for fun and exciting
things for you to get involved in. By the time
we go to print you'll have enjoyed an advanced
film screening of Mao's Last Dancer, inspired
by Li Cunxin's address to our community a
few months back; a wine indulgence evening;
and our Musical Chairs Speed Networking
evenings. If you're lucky to be based in
Melbourne, look out for our first Pamper
Indulgence Night with Waterfront Venues in
November. Come along to catch up with old
friends, make new ones, and be indulged by
our beautiful pamper partners.
The last Business Chicks breakfast series
for the year will be staged in October and I
encourage you all to come along for one last
time in 2009. Grab your colleagues and staff
and rally a table together, or just bring a few
girlfriends and make a beautiful morning of it.
It's such a pleasure to develop latte for you
and I hope you enjoy the read every time it
lands in your mailbox. A special welcome to all
the new business chicks that are reading latte
for the first time welcome to our community!
This issue we delve into the fashion industry
and explore the multi-faceted machine that
makes up the $14billion retail business in
Australia. We get some insight into adding
value to your home via a few simple tricks and
renovations. We share with you how to save 1
tonne of CO2 emissions in 1 year, and get the
inside word on acupuncture. This issue we are
also proud to launch our new section 'Member
to Remember'. Each issue we will introduce
you to one of our amazing members from
the Business Chicks community around the
country and let them share some of their story.
I'd like to send a message of support to all
the business chicks around the country that
are soon travelling to Cambodia to raise money
for Kids Helpline and work for Geraldine Cox's
orphanages over there. I hope the trip is a life
changing experience for you all.
With love,
I'd like to send a message of
support to all the business
chicks around the country that
are soon travelling to Cambodia
to raise money for Kids Helpline
and work for Geraldine Cox's
orphanages over there.
