Pixie Lott
Turn It Up
This talented new singer has a style that turns
heads, a voice that raises eyebrows, a dancing
ability that wows and a songwriting flair that sets
toes tapping. Pixie is an 18-year-old singer who,
refreshingly, sings as an 18-year-old. Hers is a fresh,
expressive, fun and free attitude with a vocal style to
match. The songs run the gamut of teendom with
songs about hearts skipping and hearts breaking.

Broken Side of Time
Broken Side of Time comes across as a cathartic,
kaleidoscope of influences, from Depeche Mode to The
Band. Grand in volume and vast in vision, it's an inspired
set of electric songs that finds the intersection of The
Verve, My Morning Jacket and Neil Young. The album
melds propulsive, throbbing bass lines and crashing
waves of guitar to a haunting, impassioned voice that
can sound ancient and Appalachian.

Karen O and the Kids
Inside Karen O is a Wild Thing as singer for the
Grammy-nominated Yeah Yeah Yeahs, her wild thing
is in your face, vulnerable, tender and exciting. To
Oscar-nominated Where the Wild Things Are director
Spike Jonze, however, Karen O and her music
possess something of a child-like innocence that put
her exactly on the right emotional wavelength to
capture the film. Release date Oct 23.
