Necker Island, British Virgin Islands, Caribbean
If you like the guest to staff ratio of twenty eight guests to sixty
staff, then Richard Branson's Necker Island is for you. With a maxi-
mum capacity of 28 guests, Necker consists of the nine bedrooms
in the Great House and five beautiful private Balinese Houses with
an exclusive hire rate of USD$51,000 per week.
Three of the private houses are built on the cliff tops overlooking
the ocean, with a further two houses built in the lush bush sur-
roundings in the middle of the 74 acre island complete with private
pools.
Meals are heralded as one of the highlights of your stay. These
can include a floating sushi bar; canoes filled with ice, decorated
with leaves and flowers, and then topped off with mouth-watering
sushi and oriental snacks. The canoe is then floated in the beach
pool where guests can help themselves. You might prefer a sail to
nearby Turtle Beach. Necker staff usually organise a sailing race
round the island, ending at Turtle Beach for a BBQ lunch. Necker
staff pride themselves on creating the mood you desire; Casino
nights complete with Bond movies playing and martinis steadily
flowing, Gala dinner evenings or Pirates of the Caribbean themed
evenings, where you can choose costumes or have them delivered
to your room followed by cocktails and a feast on the beach. Gather
your 27 closest friends and enjoy an exciting week away.
