A WORD FROM THE CHIEF
Hi, Business Chicks!
It's now been three years since my team started managing
Business Chicks, and what a ride it's been! We've expanded
into all states of Australia, launched a mentoring program,
expanded our events programs to include workshops
and networking, supported our charity, Kids Helpline,
and of course started this wonderful magazine that's found
its way into your hands.
Summer is fast approaching, so if you're one of those
people who hibernates for the winter, only to fi nd the
motivation when it starts heating up, you'll love Donna
Aston's advice about which training routine to choose.
You'll also fi nd some tips on investing in property from
property guru Chris Gray. In this issue, we've explored
some fi ve-star camping experiences and met some
amazing women at the top of their game. Carla Zampatti
shares her success strategies with us, and we uncover
some celebrity beauty treatments.
So, it's all here for you. Enjoy reading this edition
of latte and we look forward to seeing you at one of our
upcoming Business Chicks events soon.
It's now been three years since
my team started managing Business
Chicks and what a ride it's been!

A WORD FROM THE CHIEF
Hi, Business Chicks!
What a year! It was a beautiful exercise to look back on the last twelve
months and see what's been achieved in the Business Chicks community.
We launched into Perth; piloted our very successful mentoring program;
grew our events in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney; launched
our Masterclass series of workshops; continued to support Kids Helpline;
began Business Chicks Boot Camp (in NSW only); partnered with leading
brands and companies, such as NAB, who have shown a commitment to their
female staff and women in business through their involvement with Business
Chicks; and launched this beautiful magazine. I want to thank my amazing
Head Offi ce team; the dynamic women who support Business Chicks and
Kids Helpline by sitting on our national committees; and you our wonderful
supporters that have made this journey so fun and meaningful.
2009 is shaping up to be an equally tremendous year. We're taking on
your feedback and listening to you and what you want. Our famous Business
Chicks breakfast series will continue around the country, with expansion
into Canberra, Auckland and the Gold Coast and we'll also be launching
our Lunch and Learn. We'll continue to give you amazing offers and
opportunities from our partners and sponsors; and in October 2009 you'll
have the chance to travel with us to Cambodia to explore the country and
complete some project work at one of Geraldine Cox's orphanages.
In this issue of latte, Anna Gibson introduces us to some amazing business
partnerships and Adrian Raftery shares nine golden rules for sharemarket
investing in these volatile times. We also fi nd out what makes champagne
such a corker of an investment, and demystify the craze of vibration training.
We're excited to let you know you can now read latte online in eMag form
and share it with your friends. Just head to www.businesschicks.com.au
Please continue to get in touch with us and tell us what you want, and I look
forward to seeing you all in 2009. Let's work together to make it a huge one!

A WORD FROM THE CHIEF
latte
Hello you gorgeous latte readers,
Welcome to your bi-monthly caffeine injection of business, fashion, travel,
health and style! We know you're going to love what's contained in the pages
of this first edition of Business Chicks' latte magazine it's been lovingly
prepared for you, and we're so excited it's found its way into your hands.
I'm often teased for being overly excitable. I jump up and down at the
thought of a new idea or a new project; dream about where I'll travel to next;
get excited about who'll I'll meet and what I'll learn; embrace old friends in
hugs that squeeze the air from them and talk a million miles an hour.
So, needless to say, I'm excited about 2008.
2008 will be `The Year of the New' for Business Chicks. A new website, a
new mentoring program, our new Lunch and Learn Series, a new launch into
Perth (spread the word!), new partnerships (a special thanks to our Platinum
Partner NAB that has committed to supporting women in business through
Business Chicks) and of course, our new magazine, latte.
And if you want to share latte with your friends, tell them to head to the new
Business Chicks site (www.businesschicks.com.au do you love it?) where
you'll find (over the coming months) all back issues of this beautiful magazine.
In this issue, I love Rachael Oakes-Ash's story about the fluidity and
application of fashion design into other realms rugs, phones, hotels.... Who
would have thought to team Alex Perry and a clothes dryer? And if you think
Rachael can write, you should see her speak. She'll be gracing our stage at
the Brisbane Business Chicks breakfast in May come along for a belly laugh
and some insights into the truth behind female competition.
We've also done the hard work to discover the best island escapes across
the globe, my fave being Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives, where I recently
spent my honeymoon. There's seriously gorgeous winter fashion for the
workplace and 10 brilliant tips for staying more active while you are at work.
Throw yourself into this year, just as we are at Business Chicks. Take time
out for you, time to learn, time to give back and time to explore.
And enjoy your first latte!
Yours in excitement,
Emma Isaacs
